Most Problems Are Just Mismatched Energy
A Taoist-Inspired Reset for Your Creative Mind
I came across a post recently that really resonated and got me thinking:
If your mind is loud — write.
If your mind is empty — read.
If your mind is racing — walk.
If your mind is tired — sleep.
If your mind is sharp — create.
Most problems are just mismatched energy.

All of this is great advice, but that final line? That’s the one that ties the whole thing together.
Most problems are just mismatched energy.
So many of us are walking around, out of alignment, energy mismatched. We push when we need to pause, consume when we need to create, talk when we need to listen. And then we wonder why things feel off. Why we’re anxious, blocked, stuck, or uninspired.
It’s not that we’re broken. It’s just that we’re out of rhythm.
Creative Wellness Is Energy Awareness
My philosophy: Curate a Life That is a Work of Art, is built on this idea.
It’s about understanding that your mind, body, and soul move in cycles. And then moving in flow and alignment with those cycles, with creative awareness and energetic honesty.
Taoism teaches us that life is not meant to be forced, it’s meant to flow.Nature does not force. And as we are a part of nature, neither should we.
When we honor where we actually are (instead of where we think we should be), our energy aligns.
Let’s break this down:
If your mind is loud — Write.
Writing is how we clear the noise created by a loud mind. We get it out by writing it out.
I encourage everyone to have a creative writing or journalling practice. My daily routine starts with reading and writing with the 365 Tao Book Club I lead. We commit to showing up each day to read and write. It can be that simple.
If your mind is empty — Read.
There’s wisdom in stillness, but also value in receiving.
When the creative spark feels just isn't there, dont force the output. Focus on input, or receiving inspiration through the simple act of reading instead.
If your mind is racing — Walk.
Movement shifts energy. Especially movement without agenda - not to 'workout' or achieve anything, just a walk in nature to watch and observe the natural world unfolding around you. Walking engages your body so your mind isn't running the show. It brings your thoughts back to earth (literally, if you do it barefoot) and invites presence to your breath. Think of it not solely as exercise, but alignment with mind, body and soul.
If your mind is tired — Sleep.
We live in a world addicted to “doing.” But creativity honors "being". It honors Yin.
When you’re tired, the most powerful thing you can do is rest.
Rest is not weakness. It's necessary. It's not something to feel guilt about. It’s allowing your system to restore, instead of pushing through misalignment and calling it hustle.
If your mind is sharp — Create.
When you feel clarity, presence, and aliveness, please don’t doom scroll past it! Create! Paint, design, sketch, write, sing, dance. This is the energy that creates your best work and the best you.
Everything Is Energy.
Shifting your thoughts to this perspective invites you to stop overriding your internal state (and what you think you should be doing) and start listening to what your body and soul genuinely want or need. Because the reality is: everything is energy. Your thoughts. Your body. Your surroundings. Your choices.
Most of the time, the frustration or block isn’t a flaw, it’s simply an energetic mismatch.
We’re not meant to be in one mode all the time. It's all about balance. The harmony of the Yin and the Yang. We’re meant to move through seasons, rhythms, and cycles, just like the moon, the sun, the ocean.
This is how you Curate a Life that is a Work of Art - by responding authentically to your life in real time, with curiosity, honesty, and intention.
Let this be your gentle guide:
When your energy feels off, don’t fight it.
Ask what it needs. Feel it.
Then respond: creatively, intuitively, and truthfully.
You’ll be amazed how much flows when you’re not forcing or performing.
